Lando Norris on McLaren won the qualifications for the Hungarian GP, the eleventh round of the Formula 1 world championship, with a time of 1.17.207. The British driver will start in pole position and will have Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari alongside him on the front row, beaten by just 12 thousandths. Second row for Charles Leclerc with the other Ferrari and Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes, third for Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Max Verstappen with the Red Bull.
The display of a yellow flag at the end of Q3 due to a spin by Verstappen did not prevent Norris, who also raised his foot a little, from snatching pole from Hamilton, while he probably slowed down Antonelli. The FIA has informed that it is investigating an alleged ‘impeding’ between the Ferrari driver and Piastri. The Q3 ranking then sees the seventh position of George Russell, whose Mercedes then stopped on the track, and the eighth of Isack Hadjar with the Red Bull, Fifth row for Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls) and Nico Hulkenberg (Audi).
