The financiers of the provincial command of Reggio Calabriawith the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Palmsdirected by Emanuel Crescentiare executing a provision issued by the GIP of the local Court, which orders the measure of House arrest towards two subjects and the preventive seizure of three companies and money, goods and tax credits for a value of over 1.6 million euros.
The operation, conducted by the Yellow Flames of the Palmi Company, was the result of an independent activity of the Economic and Financial Police. At the stage of the investigations and subject to subsequent assessments regarding the effective and definitive determination of responsibility, the illicit proceeds subject to tax recovery are attributable to fictitious tax credits, the result of a fraud system created within the so-called “Building Bonuses”.
Specifically, the two individuals subject to the house arrest order, legal representatives of two companies, they would have fictitiously produced tax credits, relating to the building restoration interventions that were never actually carried out, to then sell them to credit institutions and other companies. In particular, in the case of the transfer to three companies, the failure to pay a consideration emerged, with the consequent reporting of the respective legal representatives, for the crime of money laundering. As a result of such conduct, the companies involved were seized and entrusted to a judicial administrator. Finally, the preventive seizure of the financial resources, company shares and assets available to the suspects was ordered, for a total value of 1,609,420 euros relating to creation and recycling of fictitious tax credits. The activity demonstrates the constant commitment of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Palmi, as well as of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Reggio Calabria in combating the most complex forms of fraud and illicit phenomena perpetrated to the detriment of the State budget, in order to guarantee the correct allocation of the considerable public resources allocated to support families and businesses.
