A citizen of Fiumedinisi is fighting between life and death, having been involved in a domestic accident and currently hospitalized at the “Gaetano Martino” Polyclinic in Messina.
GDL, 34 years old, owner of a system installation company, was in his brother’s house to help him carry out some renovation work and both were busy, in particular, assembling the external machine of an air conditioner on a balcony on the third floor of the building: suddenly, however, during the operations, the craftsman lost his balance and fell into the void, flying ten meters down to the road.
Upon impact on the ground, the 34-year-old violently hit his head and suffered serious multiple traumas and a head injury and his family members, in shock, immediately raised the alarm: the 118 rescuers intervened on the spot and, after providing initial treatment, arranged for the emergency transfer to the Messina Polyclinic, where the young man was admitted to the intensive care unit. His condition remains serious, the doctors keep the prognosis confidential and, in the next few hours, will evaluate the evolution of the clinical picture.
The Carabinieri from the Fiumedinisi and Roccalumera stations intervened at the scene of the incident, together with the staff of the Workplace Prevention and Safety Service (Spresal) of the ASP of Messina to carry out the investigations and investigations of the case, framed more as a domestic accident than at work, given that the young entrepreneur was in the home of his brother and not of a client. The entire community of Fiumedinisi rallied around the family, waiting for comforting news.
