The prefect of Catanzaro, Castrese De Rosaon the 8th of May, he chaired the fifth “itinerant” appointment of the Provincial Committee for order and public security, which was held at the Municipality of Miglierina, in which, in addition to the territorial leaders of the police, the mayors of the municipalities of Albi, Amato, Fossato Serralta, Gimigliano, Migligina, Pentone, San Pietro Apostolo, Sorbo San Basile, Taverna and Tiriolo took part.
The meeting took the move from the joint analysis of the criminal indexes referred to the three-year period 2022-23-24 in the areas of the area, and then continue with the interventions of the local administrators, which opened a profitable discussion on the problems that the municipalities daily face.
The committee proved, once again, a useful moment of comparison for the examination of the most significant issues of the territory that commit local administrators in a political – administrative effort in the government of their own area.
Particularly debated, also due to the growing consistency of the phenomenon, was the question of depopulation of urban areas, especially inland, which is accompanied by that of aging of the resident population and the consequent difficulty in accessing social and health services.
In this perspective, the urgent need to cope with local policies was shared by resorting to management methodologies also of an associative type that strengthens municipal services, (on the subject of municipal police and waste collection and transfer) and allow immediate rationalization in the use of human and financial resources.
On the control of the territory, the position in order to the effectiveness and the progressive territorial extension of the video surveillance systems, also in this case with the commitment to disorders, jointly, every possible form of national or regional funding, proved unanimously.
The meeting therefore constituted a further opportunity for synthesis and sharing the methodological premises for a common act of the administrators of the area.
The prefect De Rosa has ensured that the issues raised will be subject to analysis with all the police forces to identify the most appropriate answers especially in terms of surveillance and control of the territory as well as on the healthcare front.
