A fire broke out last night among the houses in via Taormina, in Messina. Fear for resident families who found themselves in the same situation as January 8, when a fire had damaged some houses. On the spot the firefighters with various teams engaged to extinct a vast fire that involved more precisely two houses in the district. The small buildings were completely destroyed by the stake.
In one of the two structures, the brigade extracted a blocked person inside who risked life: after cutting the grates with the motorcycle, they entered the house by saving. The other house destroyed by the stake was inhabited by a mother with daughter and a dog. They were away from home, and fortunately no consequences. The immediate intervention of the A1 team of the firefighters has averted that the stake involved other homes. The causes of the fire are to be ascertained.
The wind fueled the stake
The fire was also fueled by the wind that blew last night on the whole city. Patrols of the municipal police and carabinieri also intervened. Requests for intervention from the Fire Brigade and the Municipal Police came from the road leading to Reginella and also from Massa San Nicola for fallen trees or a fall risk. On the highway, where there are no inconveniences, the transit of the trucks telled in the stretch between Santo Stefano di Camastra and Brolo have been temporarily prohibited.
