A man of Moroccan nationality arrested for theft, resistance and personal injury to a public official.
The facts date back to last October 2, when the policemen of the Gioia Tauro police station intervened in the commercial area located near the motorway junction, following a report received by the local Operations Room regarding a theft in a sporting goods shop.
After contacting the owner of the business and gathering useful information to identify the alleged perpetrator, they tracked down the man not far from the scene of the crime, still in possession of the stolen goods.
From the early stages of the intervention, the subject showed a hostile and non-cooperative attitude, refusing to provide his personal details and hindering the control.
Subsequently, while he was accompanied to the police station, he also attacked the officers, first kicking one, then causing a wound to the second’s hand with a bite.
In light of his conduct and the numerous criminal records against him, the man was arrested and placed under house arrest pending the validation and celebration of the very direct rite.
