The violent floods that have hit Texas in the last few days have caused at least 24 victimsaccording to what the main American media report. But the number of deceased people could be destined to increase: several people are still dispersed, including some children.
The local authorities speak of an extremely critical situation, with large damage and serious difficulties in rescue operations. Rob Kelly, head of the authorities of the County of Kerr, confirmed that they are still trying to identify the victims and shed light on the actual number of missing. Among these there would also be minors who were participating in a summer camp in the area hard hit by floods.
The BBC initially reported three victims, but the data quickly increased with the advance of the hours and the continuation of the research. “We are trying to identify people who died for these very devastating and fatal floods,” said Kelly. “We know that some children are missing, but we are not sure of the number.”
