On the plate there was a huge figure, 135 million that had to serve to renovate, expand and ultimately revolutionize the map of Sicilian hotels. But after three months from the publication of the announcement, and a few days after the expiry, they had come forward a dozen entrepreneurs in everything. The questions received from Irfis, which manages the process of the tourism department, would not have allowed to invest more than about ten million. Maybe less. And for this reason a one month extension took place yesterday: there will still be time until November 14th.
Therefore an emergency procedure was triggered to save one of the major investments of European funds. To this announcement the Region entrusts the possibility of certifying a good slice of the sums at risk of return to Brussels.
