The story of the bouquet of flowers missing from the red bench, placed on November 25th on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, was resolved in an unexpected way. This morning, councilor Mariella Gugliotta went to the municipal police command to file a complaint, but developments preceded her: the municipal police, led by commander Ilenia Isgró, had in fact already identified the person responsible thanks to the first investigations. The man, realizing the attention generated by the episode, spontaneously contacted the Command explaining that he did not know the symbolic value of the flowers and that he considered them an abandoned object. Visibly sorry, he apologized and said he was ready to replace the deck at his own expense. A gesture, his, made without malice but which still had an impact on an initiative with a strong civic value. The municipal administration therefore calls for respect for public symbols dedicated to memory and awareness, especially when linked to such delicate issues as the fight against gender violence.
