The fourteenth of pensioners is ready to return in 2026. With the July instalment, in fact, around three million people will receive the additional sum recognized by INPS. The amounts can reach up to 655 euros, but not everyone will see the credit at the same time.
For some pensioners, in fact, the payment will be postponed until December. It all depends on the age and income requirements established by law.
When the fourteenth of the pensioners arrives
The fourteenth is paid automatically by INPS together with the July pension. The accreditation is expected starting from 1 July 2026 and concerns pensioners who have already completed the required requirements.
It is not necessary to submit any prior application, since the payment takes place automatically on the basis of the income data held by the Institute.
Who is entitled to the additional sum
The measure applies to pensioners who are at least 64 years old and who have an overall income within the limits set by law.
The holders of one or more pensions paid for by compulsory general insurance and related social security management can benefit from the fourteenth salary.
However, recipients of only welfare benefits, such as social allowance and social pension, are excluded, as well as some pension accompanying measures.
Why some pensioners will have to wait until December
Not everyone will receive their fourteenth in July. The credit with the December monthly salary concerns those who meet the requirements in the second part of the year or those who became pensioners during 2026.
Even in these cases, recognition is carried out automatically by INPS, which subsequently checks the actual income.
How much you are entitled to: amounts up to 655 euros
The amount of the fourteenth varies based on the years of contributions paid and the pensioner’s income.
The additional sum can start from 336 euros and reach up to a maximum of 655 euros.
The highest amounts are due to pensioners with a longer contribution period and with incomes within the thresholds established by the law.
