A serious road accident occurred along the state road 616 “di Pedivigliano”, in the Colosimi area, causing the death of one person (35-year-old Francesco Elia from Bianchi) and the injury of five others.
Following the accident, Anas ordered the temporary closure of the road in both directions at kilometer 0.550, where the impact occurred.
Three cars involved
According to initial information, three cars were involved in the accident. The causes of the collision are currently being examined by the police who intervened on site to investigate the case.
The toll is particularly heavy: one person lost his life while five others were injured and rescued by 118 health workers.
Traffic diverted onto local roads
To allow rescue operations and make the area safe, traffic was stopped in both directions and diverted along the local road network, with signs prepared on site.
In addition to the emergency medical vehicles, the firefighters, Anas personnel and the police intervened, engaged in survey activities and traffic management.
The operations to restore normal circulation are still underway and will continue until the complete removal of the vehicles involved and the safety of the section affected by the accident.
