A rich and significant preview that will accompany the public towards The fourteenth edition, scheduled in Lamezia Terme from 17 to 22 June.

The theme chosen for this edition is “free free”, a tribute to the journalist Giancarlo Sianimurdered by the Camorra on 23 September 1985, forty years ago. Born in Naples on September 19, 1959, Siani was a young reporter of the newspaper “Il Mattino”, known for his courage and for his investigations on organized crime and infiltrations in local politics. His unshakable determination to seek truth and his loyalty to investigative journalism cost him his life at only 26 years old.
“Free free” is a cry of freedom against any form of mafia oppression, but also a strong call to the right to information and freedom of expression, values that Siani has defended until the last breath.
His story – says a note from the Festival – is today more than ever a symbol of civil courage, an example for journalists, students and citizens who do not intend to give in to silence and fear. The 2025 edition of Trame will also be a tribute to the judge Francesco Ferlaino, the first magistrate murdered by the ‘Ndrangheta in Calabria, in Lamezia Terme, fifty years ago.
The festival will put the memory and civil commitment at the center, addressing fundamental issues such as the evolution of mafias on the national and international scene, systemic corruption, social and economic inequalities, also in access to public health, the role and risks of investigative journalism, the freedom of press today, the relationship between organized crime and new technologies, the drug trafficking, the testimony of family members of the mafia commitment to legality.
Trame Festival is thus confirmed not only as a moment of cultural reflection, but as a garrison of legality, awareness and active citizenship, capable of combining memory and future in a single collective voice.
