The G7 in Calabria will be comparable to a “general states of world trade, economy and growth, I asked the partners for a meeting “that opens and does not close”, and “there will therefore be the participation of countries from other continents. Freedom of exchange, trade and navigation are fundamental for growth”. Thus the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani at the Farnesina presenting to the press the ministerial trade meeting of the G7 under the Italian presidency scheduled for 16-17 July in Calabria.
The meeting will be developed through four priority themes: strengthening the multilateral trading system through the reform of the World Trade Organization; ensuring a level playing field in global markets; encouraging environmental sustainability in trade; improving economic resilience and security. Tajani highlighted in particular the issue of navigation safety in the Red Sea.
“With great pride I participated in the G7 Coordination meeting at the Farnesina, together with President Roberto Occhiuto and Minister Antonio Tajani and the entire G7 delegation, to define the final points of the organization. It is a great opportunity for Calabria as a whole, once again recognized by the Government as an important region of the country, central to the Mediterranean”. This was stated by the Hon. Francis Cannizzaro, deputy group leader of Forza Italia in the Chamber of Deputies, on the sidelines of the G7 coordination meeting on trade to be held in Altafiumara on 16 and 17 July.
“It is a great honor that the G7 is being hosted in the Reggio Emilia area, in the Strait Area. Exactly one year ago, together with Minister Tajani and President Occhiuto, we announced it from Altafiumara, which in the meantime has become the host base for the G7. We are happy that among the various working sessions of the G7 there will be one at the Port of Gioia Tauro, with a visit on site, because it represents the main hub for the future of the Mediterranean, strategic for the implementation of the Mattei Plan. Just as we are very happy that all the ministers of the host countries will visit the City of Reggio, welcomed first at the National Archaeological Museum, to see the Riace Bronzes and all the other treasures kept at the MarRC, and then take a tour of the city center, experiencing first-hand the great cultural potential that the city of the Strait boasts.”
