The event, promoted by UNI (Italian Normation Authority), in collaboration with the Calabria and Fincalabra Region, took place today at the Regional Citadel in Catanzaro, in the presence of institutions, entrepreneurial bodies and realities of the area.

The last Global Gender Gap Index, published by the World Economic Forum, shows that Italy is located in 87th on 146 countries. The report documents that, with the current rhythms, the wide scissor between women and men on the level of opportunities in professional contexts could only cancel themselves in 134 years.
To accelerate the times, among the main antidotes to working asymmetry, UNI/PDR 125 was born, i.e. the certification to overcome the gender gap.
It is a concrete tool, which offers real and tangible solutions and which defines a series of areas to be pressed to obtain respect for equality between the sexes in companies and organizations in terms of governance, welfare, career possibility, wage equity, protection of the parental role and many other aspects.
Among the regions that have provided business support measures for the achievement of the gender equality certification, Calabria is achieving significant success with already over 300 companies which, in a few weeks, have requested to access these inclusive measures.
It is an advancement, also documented by the Confartigianato Study Office, in Calabria, according to which female occupation, in a year, would have climbed a +3.1% against a more modest +0.7% of men (2024 data).
