In Rome, in the evocative setting of Casa Bonus Pastor in the Vatican, the president of the International Center for Gioachimite Studies of San Giovanni in Fiore, Riccardo Succurro, was awarded the Kainotés Prize by the Mediterranean Academy of Cultural Diplomacy. The event is part of the “Othismos Festival”, created by Joseph Caristena, founder and president of the Academy itself, and characterized by a strong international and cultural flavor.

Succurro, who leads the Gioachimita Training School, is the author of numerous studies dedicated to Abbot Gioacchino da Fiore. His publications include texts such as The Book of Figures of Gioacchino da Fiore told to his flowers, The wisdom of Gioacchino da Fiore illuminates Dante and The Florense Abbey of San Giovanni in Fiore. Over the years he has carried out hundreds of public interventions on the Calabrian thinker, and is a member of prestigious cultural organizations such as the Dante Alighieri Society and the FAI.

His commitment to disseminating Gioachimite thought has already earned him numerous awards, such as the Paul Harris Fellow, the Sila Prize, the Face of Culture, Seminiamo Cultura, San Bernardo, Stelle della Sila, Longevity Day, as well as the appointment as academic of the Cosentina Academy of Parrhasio and Telesio.

In his words of thanks, Succurro underlined the value of the evening just experienced, defining it as an opportunity for growth and reflection on Mediterranean civilization, which is too often overlooked. He highlighted the role of the Kainotés Prize and the Othismos Film Festival in promoting dialogue, inclusion and tolerance through cinema and contemporary arts, thanks to testimonies capable of combining tradition, experimentation and cultural commitment.
