The political confrontation flares up again around the Municipality’s accounts, with reconstructions that reflect opposite readings of the same story. According to former mayor Aldo Alessio, the 2025 report would deliver a particularly critical picture. According to the former mayor, the financial year would have closed with a deficit of 37.4 million euros, while the available part of the administration result would be negative for over 41 million. Again according to Alessio, the final figure would have significantly worsened compared to the initial estimates, which stopped at around 19.6 million, with a deviation attributed largely to the growth of the Liquidity Advance Fund (FAL), which increased by around 20 million compared to forecasts. In his reconstruction, the former mayor also recalls the need to verify compliance with the financial commitments undertaken over time, referring to the multi-year timetable agreed with the Ministry of the Interior. According to him, questions remain about the actual achievement of the expected objectives and the choices made in the management of administrative priorities. Again according to Alessio, the trend of the accounts could have repercussions on citizens, also in light of the evolution of local taxation, with particular reference to the waste service.
