Giro d'Italia, the German Steinhauser triumphs at the Brocon Pass

AND' Georg Steinhauser to triumph solo in the seventeenth stage, the Selva di Val Gardena-Passo del Brocon of 159 kilometres: the 22-year-old German from EF Education-EasyPost beat Tadej Pogacar, increasingly leader of the general classification, by 1'25″ and Antonio Tiberi by 1'41″. First victory of the season ahead of the Slovenian who once again gained further ground on Daniel Martinez and Geraint Thomas.

Positive day also for the blue colours, Tiberi himself managed to gain on Arensman and O'Connor. Nothing changes regarding the race for the pink jersey, the UAE captain has now virtually conquered the general classification: the cyclamen jersey remains on the shoulders of Jonathan Milan, the white one is always worn by Tiberi. Tomorrow the eighteenth stage, the 178 kilometer Fiera di Primiero-Padova, a section dedicated to sprinters.
