The Municipality of Cirò Marina bets on sustainability, also in tourism and undertakes to adopt innovative policies consistent with the protection of the environment in the declared will to implement the European Agenda 2030.
The pro-environment attitude has already allowed the municipal administration led by the Mayor Sergio Ferrari to receive the “Dragonfly” as recognition of the good practices already started in the territory and the commitment taken by the Administration with theadhesion to the network of sustainable municipalities. Cirò Marina received recognition in the national assembly of the “Network”, which took place in the “dell’Ara Pacis” museum, in Rome.

The work of art, created in natural materials by master craftsmen, symbolizes precisely, the balance between man and nature, resilience and the ability to innovate. The “Libellula” was withdrawn by the mayor of Cirò Marina, Sergio Ferrari together with the city councilors Cataldo Strumbo and Mario Turano. The first direct consequence of the adhesion to the National Network of Municipalities was the insertion of the Ionian town in the “Guide of Italian Sustainable Municipalities”, which will be presented on May 15 at the Turin International Book Fair. It is an important opportunity for those realities, such as the Ionian town that focus on tourism. In fact, the guide is intended for that growing flow of travelers who choose slow, inclusive tourism, therefore supported by adequate services to be accessible, green and smart, and in continuous search for new destinations and sensory experiences between landscapes and unspoiled nature.
