Hamas is trying to regain control of the areas of Gaza from which the IDF withdrew and has begun retaliation against the groups accused of helping Israel. The Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat writes it.
The Hamas government’s security forces in the Gaza Strip continue to deploy to new areas within the Strip, with the aim of extending its control. Internal security and intelligence militiamen from the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, have deployed in the north of the Strip, particularly in Jabalia. According to the testimonies collected, retaliation immediately began against the members of the groups that had formed in recent months, such as Yasser Abu Shabab’s Popular Forces, and there have already been summary executions and arrests in Jabalia and Beit Lahia.

The primary objective of the Sharm el Sheikh agreement is the destruction of all Hamas tunnels in Gaza and the IDF will have to achieve this. The order came from Defense Minister Israel Katz.

“The great challenge for Israel after the return of the hostages will be the destruction of all Hamas terrorist tunnels in Gaza, directly at the hands of the IDF and through the international mechanism that will be established under the leadership and supervision of the United States,” Katz wrote on X.
«This is the main meaning of the implementation of the agreed principle of demilitarization of Gaza and disarmament of Hamas. I gave instructions to the IDF to prepare to carry out the mission”, he explained.
