Under arrest a non-EU citizen responsible for a violent attack against another foreigner and resistance to a public official. The policemen from the Gioia Tauro police station carried out the measure.
In particular, while the officers were traveling along the SS18 at Rosarnotheir attention was drawn to a man who had a noticeable injury to his eye and who, when asking the police for help, declared that he had been punched shortly before.
After collecting the testimonies of those present, the officers identified the suspect, who, in an attempt to evade arrest, lured the police into an alley with the excuse of recovering a document. After leading the officers into the alley, the man recovered an iron bar with which he threatened the police resisting the completion of the identification activities, only to be later disarmed and arrested.
The suspect was taken to the police station where he was formally accused of resisting a public official and causing serious injury. The judge validated the arrest and ordered the man to sign three days a week while awaiting trial.
