A movement without leaders, and with militias decimated from the firepower of Israeli raids, it continues to display strength and resistance. So Hezbollah claimed the attack with a drone last Saturday on the private residence of Benyamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, which actually reached the building causing damage, as emerged from the images published by the Israeli media. The Israeli Prime Minister was not there, but the Party of God warned that they will still be there «nights and days» to try again. And he did so with a public act of defiance, during a press conference, to which the IDF responded with a series of raids in the Shiite stronghold in southern Beirut, which also came close to a hospital and killed 18 people.

The remote war between Israel and Iran

In the background, the war (for the moment) at a distance between the Jewish state and theIranwhich led to the arrest of a new group of Tehran spies, this time Palestinians, operating in East Jerusalem. Only today there Israeli military censorship authorized the publication of the news of the raid on Netanyahu’s house, and the media published a photo showing the damage: broken trees and a shattered glass window, which appears to be in the bedroom. Hezbollah assumed “full and exclusive responsibility for theoperation who targeted the war criminal Netanyahu,” said Mohammad Afif, head of media relations for the Lebanese movement.

Attacks and claims

One way not to bring in theIranwhich at this moment does not want to further provoke Israel, and at the same time to underline that the Lebanese Shiite militias they still have many resources to continue their fight in southern Lebanon. The press conference, crowded with journalists, was however abruptly interrupted because Israeli fighters began bombing the neighborhood, Ghobeyri, according to Lebanese media reports. The south of the Lebanese capital, like the rest of the country, has been targeted by an intense series of attacks since Monday evening, which according to theIdf they targeted military installations of Hezbollah.

The toll of the attacks

In one of these raids, however, shells fell outside the university hospital Rafik Hariri. The toll is at least 18 dead, including four children, and 60 injured, according to local health authorities. On the other side of the border, Shiite militias claimed responsibility for the launch rockets against the Galileethe Golan Heights and up to Tel Aviv, against a Mossad base. Haifa, the main city in northern Israel, was also targeted again: Hezbollah’s version is that of an attack with drones against a military base.

Accusations on the use of white phosphorus

In the last few days Unifil was spared from the crossfire, but it has now emerged from the Financial Times that in one of the incidents in which theIdf hit the peacekeepers «he is suspected of having used white phosphorusan incendiary chemical, close enough to injure 15 peacekeepers.” This was revealed in a confidential report “prepared by a country that supplies troops” to the UN mission and which was seen by the British newspaper. Among the incidents, we also mention the one in which two Israeli tanks broke through the gate of a Unifil base.

Discussions between Netanyahu and Blinken

Of the war in Lebanon Netanyahu and the US Secretary of State spoke Antony Blinken in a face-to-face meeting in Jerusalem, but the conversation focused mainly on Iranian threat. The war cabinet has not yet given the green light to the announced retaliation against Tehran for the rockets on Israel on October 1, but intelligence has been busy dismantling a network of spies in the pay of the Islamic Republic. The latest operation led to the arrest of seven Palestinian residents of East Jerusalemaccused of planning the murder of an Israeli scientist and a mayor on Tehran’s orders. Previously, seven Israelis from Israel had ended up in handcuffs Haifawho allegedly spied on military bases and energy infrastructures. A war in which even the Mossad is playing its cards very well: the sensational blitz which at the end of July led to the killing of the head of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh in the heart of Tehran it was possible thanks to a tip-off, probably from an exponent of the Pasdaran or the internal security of the US regime ayatollah.
