«I liked to think of a new piece that was a bit a tribute to that Hellenistic culture that has marked this place so much. The myth of the Titan Prometheus was an idea I had for some time: this demigod who sacrifices himself to bring fire and therefore progress to men is an extraordinary figure. I am happy to be able to bring it to life here.” Roberto Bolle will dance for the first time at the Greek theatre in Syracuse tomorrow evening at 8:30 pm. The international star is on tour with his Gala Roberto Bolle and Friends in unique locations throughout Italy. And this time he was inspired by the ancient thousand-year-old cavea. The show is produced by Artedanza srl.
One of the pieces he will present for the first time is entitled Prometheus and brings to the stage the legend of the titan who stole fire from the gods to give it as a gift to men. In the staging, conceived and created by Bolle himself with the choreographer Massimiliano Volpini, the feat is represented by a set made of tubes on which the dancer climbs, twists, until he reaches the real fire, which he steals from the gods to share with men.
The rest of the evening is a journey through the classical and contemporary repertoire of ballet together with his Friends: Antonio Casalinho engaged in two pieces of great technical skill such as Les Bourgeois and Esmeralda by Marius Petipa, alongside Margarita Fernandes. And then Tatiana Melnik, partner of Bolle himself in the pas de deux Spartacus by Yuri Grigorovich and of the dancer of Cuban origins, Osiel Gouneo, in Don Quixote by M. Petipa. Contemporary classical dance is represented with fascinating pieces such as «I» by Philippe Kratz performed by Casia Vengoechea and Travis Clausen-Knight, partner of Bolle himself in the pas de deux from Les Indomptès by Claude Brumachon. For the first time in Sicily also a solo that won over the audience of the cult TV program «Danza con Me», In your black eyes, by Patrick De Bana dedicated to Ezio Bosso.
