A check in the city center allowed the Strongoli carabinieri to report two local people to the Crotone Prosecutor’s Office for violations of illegal construction in a state of freedom. It concerns the client – who held the property in the form of free loan for use – and the executor of the works.
The soldiers, in fact, suspicious of the construction site in question, decided to access it, therefore ascertaining that without any type of authorization important construction works were underway, such as renovating the external facades with the creation of a pedestrian entrance door, replacing the fixtures, creating a masonry partition inside the room to divide the interiors, creating a further masonry partition for the creation of toilets, screed with the laying of new flooring and new construction of the water and electrical systems and sewerage. Further investigations carried out in the following hours made it possible to ascertain how during these works the contractor had also made an illegal connection to the municipal water network in order to fraudulently withdraw water. He will therefore also have to answer for the crime of aggravated theft.
