«Matteotti was a person who, despite being wealthy, took care of the problems of the humble and for this reason he was so loved by his farmers whom he always defended. This year has been a succession of events, we hope that in the future these martyrs, to whom we as a society owe so much, can be remembered as important facts of history and not just as an example”, Milana specified.

«Thanks to the Administration for sharing the project we wanted – stated the national secretary Maraio – aPlacing a plaque here means restoring centrality to a city like Reggio with respect to the figure of Matteotti, after whom I know the street we are on is also named. And it aims to be a commitment to relaunch political commitment from Reggio: remembering Matteotti means not only remembering a socialist, but an important figure of the entire Italian left who fought against abuses, against fascism and for freedoms, but it means bringing the commitment back to the present at a time when new totalitarianisms and risks of democratic degeneration are appearing in society.”
