«A few hours have passed since the poinsettias were placed in the flowerbeds of Piazza Castello, placed as decorations for the holidays, and some of them were damaged. However, we will restore them in the next few hours.” To affirm it is Massimiliano Merendamunicipal councilor with responsibility for Parks and Gardens.

«We are not yet able to determine whether it was an act of vandalism or the negligence of animal owners who left their dogs free to roam, unintentionally causing the damage found in the flowerbeds. In any case, regardless of the origin, it is a serious and highly reprehensible gesture from the point of view of civic sense. We once again invite our fellow citizens to become custodians of the heritage that surrounds them and to take care of the public good. If each of us does not have urban decorum at heart, even with small gestures, the risk is that similar episodes could repeat themselves, frustrating the efforts of the Administration and many people of good will. The episode will be reported to the Prosecutor’s Office to assess any responsibilities.”

«Special thanks go to the Castore company for the work done, which allows us to beautify the city. Naturally, we will continue to promote further initiatives to recover decorum and to help give our city an unforgettable Christmas.”
