Sixteen points approved and a shared vision. Majority and opposition manage to converge on health issues to the point of thinking of an ad hoc council joint with the civic assembly of the city of Reggio.
Yesterday’s metropolitan council gave a green light to the consolidated budget which, as underlined by branch delegate Ranuccio, «despite the Government’s continuous cuts, the organization continues to maintain good solidity, with an operating result of 24.3 million euros» . But it is during the preliminaries that the priorities of the territory to which the councilor gives voice come into focus Giuseppe Marino: on the table is the assignment of the functions delegated by the Region and above all to the emergency of the territorial health structures under the responsibility of the ASP, in particular some clinics and the medical guards, many of which are at risk of closure. «According to the ASP’s forecasts – said Marino – there are 54, leaving many municipalities in the metropolitan area without local health services. We are experiencing a health emergency. I agree with Mayor Falcomatà’s strong stance against this decision, which represents a linear cut in the territorial health services adopted by the general director Di Furia following the political line of the Region. I therefore hope for a metropolitan council on the topic, inviting all the mayors of the metropolitan area and asking all the parties to form a common front against this choice.”
