“An extremely suggestive place in which this theatrical representation has even more value and charm. The fact that it is sold out already in the first week of presale it says a lot. This is a clear sign of how the beauties of our territory, if valorised by us Sicilians, can give the added value we need to ensure that our land finally gains the right momentum”.
Francesco Russo Morosoli, CEO of Gole Alcantara srl, said this after the debut of the new edition of theDante’s Infernothus opening that authentic hurricane of consensus following the first performances.
“Dante’s biggest flaw – underlined for example Leonardo Lodato, editor-in-chief of the newspaper La Sicilia – is that… it is studied in school, becoming pure notionalism and soon ending up forgotten. The work done by director Giovanni Anfuso is very important because he manages, with the complicity of this magical place, to bring Dante back into reality, to the days we live in. A show that deserves to be seen not only by tourists, but above all by young people, our students. Because Anfuso managed to change theHell… in Heaven”.

The deputy director of Antenna Sicilia, Angelo Gagliano, is of the same opinion, starting from “Distant memories of Dante, beautiful memories” and then underlining “the atmosphere of this enchanting place that nature has given us”.

And at the end of both the preview on the 21st and the debut on the 23rd, the actors received an avalanche of applause, even on stage. Starting with the new Dante Alighieri, played by Luigi Nicotra and marked by empathy and suffering, continuing with Liliana Randi (tourist), Davide Sbrogiò (Count Ugolino), Salvo Piro (Virgil), Giovanna Mangiù (Francesca), Davide Pandolfo (Ciacco), Federico Fiorenza (Charonte), William Caruso (Farinata), Ivan Giambirtone (Ulysses), and Peter Passalacqua (Paolo, Diomedes and Archbishop Ruggeri). And with them the damned: Chiara Di Giovanni, Giulia De Marzi, Alessia Linguaglossa, Marta Marino, Gaia Palmeri, Lucio Rapisarda, Francesco Rotatore, Emiliano Sgroi, Gloria Trischitta and Federica Zuccarello. The new choreographies by Fia Distefano were also highly appreciated, as were the costumes by Riccardo Cappello, the music by Nello Toscano, the scenic elements by Silver Ruggeri and the lights by Davide La Colla. Also worth mentioning are the assistant directors: Micaela De Grandi, Valentina Ferrante, Davide Pandolfo and Lucia Rotondo.
In short, an edition of Hellthis one from 2026, innovative compared to the previous ones, as confirmed by Sergio Regalbuto, director of NewSicilia: who noticed “a different Dante, emotionally more involved, even in pain”, confirming the value of the “combination between the great professional ability of the actors, the great organizational capacity of Buongiorno Sicilia and a fabulous scenario like few exist in the world”.
It should be added that the preview on the 21st was preceded by a presentation of PAlkantia project Living art of Sicily by Salvo La Rosa, radio and television presenter and author, who spoke with Giovanni Anfuso, director and author of the dramaturgy of Hellstating that “with a cast amazing, he always manages to make this story special.”
