The Eteria Consortium, together with Cimolai, was awarded a new lot of road works in Calabria, entrusted by Anas, for a tender value of over 397 million euros. The intervention represents an improvement in connections in the stretch between Corigliano and Sibari and an important piece of the larger project of construction and modernization works of the state road 106 «Jonica», the main axis of the Taranto – Reggio Calabria Ionian ridge. This is a project that adds to the other interventions launched and underway on infrastructure in Calabria, with investment programs in both the road and railway sectors.
The section entrusted to Eteria – through the executing consortium members Vianini Lavori, Itinera and Icop – and Cimolai concerns in particular the road upgrade in the province of Cosenza from the junction of the state road from Corigliano west to Sibari, along a route of approximately 16 kilometers which will include the construction of 15 viaducts and 2 overpasses. The route is in fact characterized by the presence of numerous overpass works, with an extension between 270 and 760 metres. The duration of the intervention is estimated at approximately three and a half years from the start of the works (1,375 days) and strategic within this project will be the creation of a new connecting link at the «Corigliano Ovest» junction which affects both the upstream and seaward routes, thus allowing the inhabited center, the existing SS106 and the seaport to be reconnected, now included in a vast regional development and strengthening plan of the port authorities.
The assignment includes the design and execution of the works, and environmental monitoring services before and during construction, geotechnical and structural monitoring before and during construction and clearance of wartime ordnance.
