The Municipality of Isola Capo Rizzuto has assigned 17 properties confiscated from organized crime to as many third sector bodies and associations as a free concession. Following a public notice, a special judging commission evaluated and approved the projects presented by the associations operating in the social, cultural and sporting fields. The properties assigned are largely represented by apartments located in four and five-storey condominiums, such as the building in via Le Castella in which the associations Giovani della Carità, L’Isola che non c’è, Prociv Arci, Making Environment Crotone, Asd Japyx, Asd aps Poseidon, Sounbd Academy Association, city music band.
«The Municipality of Isola di Capo Rizzuto – states the mayor Maria Grazia Vittimberga in a note – thus underlines the value of legality as the foundation of sustainable and shared growth, bringing confiscated assets back to the community and transforming them into places of opportunity.
The reuse of confiscated assets represents one of the most effective tools to dismantle criminal structures, returning these spaces to their legitimate purpose: the well-being of the community.” Furthermore, in the next few days, the Municipality will inaugurate some significant works carried out on other properties, confirming its commitment to legality.
