A tragic car accident involved a group of seven Italian tourists in Cienfuegos, Cuba, causing the death of two people and the injury of others. Among the victims is Patrizia Crisolini Malatesta67 years old, coordinator of the tourist group, together with the driver of the vehicle. The dynamics of the accident are still being investigated.

According to what was reported by Susanna Ceccherini, representative of Adventures around the Worldthe minibus in which the tourists were traveling collided with a lorry, subsequently ending up off the road. Despite some initial reports, it has been confirmed that two injured people underwent surgery and are now out of danger.

The Farnesina reported that since the first reports, the Italian embassy in Havana has provided support to compatriots, working in coordination with local authorities and medical personnel. The embassy maintains constant contact with the tour operator to ensure the best possible support for the injured and other members of the group.
