Double chance for the ASD Accademia Karate Crotone which, this weekend found itself attending the Saturday 16th November at Karate Berlin Open 2024 with the athlete Emanuele Genovese who competed in the double capacity of master +35 and that of Senior. The event held at Horst-Korber-Sportzentrum in Berlin saw 74 teams taking turns on the competition mats for a total of 571 participants from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Georgia, England, Italy, Martinique, Nepal, Holland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland. In the first participation class the first medal arrived for Emanuele who once again challenged himself in the over 18 Senior class where the difficulty of accessing the podium left him faced with important tactical choices. He manages to seize the right moment that allowed him to access the third step of the 75kg podium that he saw at the 1st Aly Ahmed (Aly karate – EGY); 2nd Barry Oury (Moderne Sport Karate Berlin –GER); 3rd Genoese Emanuele (AKC Crotone -ITA). The other chance, played a few hours later in the master+35 class, saw Emanuele Genovese come within a whisker of the top prize. In fact, in the final he narrowly gave way to the good guy Raja Rehan (Bushido Chemnitz -GER) thus conquering the second step of the podium and winning the medalSilver in the category up to 80kg.
Two more medals added to the palmares of the Crotone Karate Academy thanks to the synergy of Athletes, Technicians and Managers who are giving the historic Crotone club a second youth.
Our warmest congratulations go to Emanuele Genovese and all the AKC staff in the hope that other important results will reach the now imminent conclusion of the four-year Olympic period.
