The excitement and adrenaline are sky high on this first day of the Kitesurfing World Championships in Gizzeria, in which world class athletes compete in the spectacular setting of Hang Loose Beach. Clear skies and perfect winds kicked off today’s racing, which saw two fleets of talented kiters compete in 6 exciting races. With youngsters from the A’s Youth Foil category and veterans from the KiteFoil Open Masters category riding the waves and braving the wind, the show was exceptional from the early hours of the morning. The waters of Gizzeria welcomed this unique competition, offering breathtaking scenery and ideal wind conditions to test the athletes’ skills.
In the A’s Youth Foil category, the first day was dominated by the Italian Julio Houzefollowed by Sasha Lethuillier And Jakub Balewicz. While for the veterans of the KiteFoil Open Masters category, the victory on the first day went to Ejder Ginyolwith Jean Romain Morel and James Johnsen to follow on the podium. This beautiful summer day, marked by about 16 knots of constant wind, allowed the participants to demonstrate their talent, their determination and their passion for the sport in a series of exciting and thrilling regattas. The Kitesurfing World Championships in Gizzeria are just beginning, but they already promise surprises, emotions and unforgettable moments for all fans of this extraordinary sport. The regattas will continue on Friday with the qualifying races and on Saturday and Sunday with the semifinals and finals. At the end of the races, on Sunday afternoon, the awards ceremony will be held.
From July 3rd, the show continues with the Formula Kite Youth World Championships, the discipline that will make its debut in Paris at the next Olympic Games. Next week, the show put on by the main sponsor Porsche will also take place with its wonderful cars, all to be tested, and above all with the performances of the athletes sponsored by the brand. The weekend of July 6 and 7, to enrich the sports calendar, the stage of the Italian Beach Volleyball Series Beach 1 tournament will be played.
