The provision with which the Health Commissioner rejects the request for renewal of the accreditation of the extensive out-of-hospital rehabilitation unit managed by Karol Betania is abnormal, and highlights once again the hostile attitude of the territory towards Karol Betania. This is what the CISL Fp Magna Grecia of Catanzaro-Crotone-Vibo Valentia claims, which highlights the contradictory nature of the acts implemented by the Calabria Region which, on the one hand, authorizes the sine die occupation of 20 beds for extensive rehabilitation on a continuous cycle by the Betania Foundation and, on the other, due to this occupation, does not recognize the requirements for Karol Betania the renewal of accreditations for these beds which Karol has not been able to use in this period due to the same provisions of the Region.
«This is an absurd measure lacking any motivation, which risks causing damage not only to society, but also to the vulnerable people who are benefiting from the services provided by Karol Betania and to the many operators who see their jobs at great risk of work”, explains the general secretary of the CISL Fp Magna Grecia Antonino D’Aloi. For this reason, the CISL FP «supports and supports the company against a measure taken by the Calabria Region in the absence of cross-examination and in contempt of the regulations issued by it, which hinders growth and development processes with the loss of approximately 136 jobs, causing a condition of difficulty for the numerous families to whom the services are provided, and who will be forced to turn to other structures: is this perhaps the final objective?”, concludes D’Aloi.
Alongside the company and the workers also the CISL Magna Grecia of Catanzaro-Crotone-Vibo Valentia, which with its general secretary Daniele Gualtieri, underlines the need to review the provision «with the primary objective of safeguarding the jobs of many operators who over the years have offered high-level services with professionalism and dedication, and not to leave families in uncertainty who are already forced to deal with complex situations of fragility, and which would see the continuity of care and the quality of care at risk”.
