A one-off solidarity contribution of 1% or 2% to be calculated on the profits of the last 12-24 months of banks, insurance companies and companies in the energy sector: this would be – according to what Corriere della Sera reports – the hypothesis on which the Treasury is working, in search of resources for the manoeuvre, and which would bring the entire majority to agree, including Forza Italia which has so far been reluctant to intervene with new taxes and who had strongly opposed a tax on banks’ extra profits. Such «solidarity levy»the Corriere further explains, should be “built together” and “with a view to cooperation”, through discussion with the sectors involved.
