A bomber who deserves “respect and support”. The imprimatur on the mayor Paolo Mascaro, indicated as the natural candidate of Forza Italia in the municipal elections next spring, comes from the regional secretary and deputy group leader in the Chamber of Deputies of Forza Italia Francesco Cannizzaro. The announcement was made on the occasion of the “Radici” meeting, the format that the “blue” party has been carrying out for weeks throughout Calabria, to listen to the area and collect ideas, and which has also arrived in the city.
Cannizzaro, however, was keen to underline that Forza Italia intends to deal with the centre-right table, “possibly enlarged”, in order to “together win all the electoral competitions that will take place in 2025 starting from Lamezia with the central role it deserves”. In other words, the natural candidate should be the outgoing mayor, “who has rehabilitated a city in serious trouble”, unless the allies put a name on the table that could be of greater “importance” than Mayor Mascaro. An announcement that has effectively accelerated the political debate in the centre-right, which has been talking for weeks, with official and unofficial meetings, to try to reach a meeting point on the name of the candidate for mayor.
