The Mediterranean of wine becomes an itinerary of territories, cultures, products and businesses. Among the important events of the “Merano wine fest”, the press conference was held to present the “Malvasia without borders” project, promoted by the Chambers of Commerce of Messina and Pordenone-Udine (lead body).
The project path, which aims to involve the chambers and institutions of all national and international areas of Malvasia, follows the event held in Panarea last summer to enhance the centuries-old wine culture of Malvasia and make it a shared story of identity, tourism and economic development. «Malvasia is a “mythical” wine – states the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Ivo Blandina – an ancient vine, with a profound cultural value and rooted in the identity of several places. Places that this initiative intends to network, promoting a strategic alliance which, starting from Malvasia, promotes thematic itineraries of high tourist value, generating development opportunities for the areas involved”.

“Malvasia senza Confini” aims to create a great international wine tourism itinerary, where the history of wine also becomes a story of economics, people and landscapes. A project which, starting from the Mediterranean, builds a network of territories that share the same roots and the same future. «The objective – explained the president of the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce, Giovanni Da Pozzo – is to enhance a common heritage and transform it into original and concrete opportunities for businesses and all the territories involved. Malvasia is the thread that unites different stories and landscapes, but linked by the same soul in the varied Mediterranean basin.”
The wine manager Walter Filiputti also took part in the presentation; the president and founder of “Merano wine festival”, Helmuth Köcher; and the president of Asset Basilicata, Angelo Tortorelli.
