“Peace has ended”: The summer tour of Marracash is landing tonight in Messina. A particular stage for the Italian “King”, which after Venice, Naples, Turin, Milan and Rome, arrives in Sicily, where it was born. Fabio Bortolo Rizzo is originally from Nicosia even if he then spent adolescence in the Milanese outskirts, in the Barona area, in those places where the inspiration of the musical path of one of the main protagonists of the national hiphop scene of the “Middle Generation”, after article 31 and undertone and before the advent of the trap, has sprouted. Marra arrives in the city where the university a few months ago ended up at the center of a national controversy for not having wanted to assign the honorary degree.
The first time in the stadiums for Marra, who even in September 2023 had managed to do something unique and extraordinary, a rap festival renamed “Marrageddon”, through which by combining many colleagues from the same musical universe and beyond, he made a sold out in the Hippodromas of Agnano in Naples and Maura in Milan. Now, this other bet, overcoming the “seventh album crisis” to great: “Peace has ended but hope never dies, because if there was no it would no longer make sense to go on – said the artist on the eve of the arrival on the shore to the Strait -. We are humans are not very reasonable but we are also very stoic. It is always worth fighting for things you believe, trying to always make your contribution, not to accept everything as it comes. As I say in one of my songs, the real risk is this sense of helplessness that today’s world puts us on us. When people feel powerless in fact they make this condition real. Thinking of not being able to change things, they do not do it and therefore make this impotence that try to transmit us. In my opinion it is always important to make your voice heard and never give up ».
With music but not only, given that his lives have become real emotional, theatrical experiences: a cross -section of his personal change. «With this live we have the intent to tell a story: a conflict between Marracash’s personality, the artist, and that of Fabio, the human being. This will happen a bit like the narration of a film, in fact we also have cinematographic components and a great band, things that certainly would not expect. It is a more material live than Marrageddon because we have a rather consistent scenography, as well as these five immense robots, which do things during the concert. It is a live that wants to differentiate itself from others, even in the fact that you have not been almost guests, if not in very rare cases with a fixed guest that will be in all the stages, which is Madame, who will also play a role in the narration, as a character. The interaction with the public is also particular. It was very nice to think of this thing, to work with Lorenzo (Depa), a genius, and try precisely to be creative in proposing a different live, which we have never seen anyone doing. This live represents a key point not only for my career, but also for my story on the issue of identity and on the inner conflicts that are growing growing. It will therefore be the final chapter of my trilogy and will stage it at 360 degrees, I hope in the best way because it is more than a concert ».
Those who will be today at the “Franco Scoglio” will be able to travel in a various rap, between existential messages and real content, between road and reflection. From social media to talk, from politically incorrect to the need to feel alive, from passion to reasoning. Never banal, this makes Marra exceptional. Today mature, also for the general public, not only for the niche that launched him and continues to love him, considering him still authentic. “In the live you will see a reunification between the two me, it is also a way to affirm my identity which is the sum of my two souls”.
