«Property policies reappear cyclically in the proposals of the left. It is reassuring to know that, with the right in government, they will never see the light.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni writes it.

Fratoianni to Meloni: “No assets? Poverty increases with the right”

«The Prime Minister tells us via tweet that it is reassuring to know that with the right in government there will never be any financial losses. I say that it is not at all reassuring that with the right in government the number of people in poverty increases, that – as happened between 2023 and 2024 – the number of Italians who give up treatment because they can no longer afford it increases by 1 million.” Nicola Fratoianni of Avs said this while replying to Giorgia Meloni from the microphones of Skytg24.

«Just as it is absolutely not reassuring to know – continued the SI leader – that the salaries of the majority of Italians in this country, the only case in Europe, have essentially stagnated or gone backwards for thirty years, while the cost of living continues to increase. There is little that can be done here: it would be enough – concluded Fratoianni – for the ministers of the Meloni government to go around and talk to real people, and I’m not talking about the so-called poor workers, those for whom a measure such as the minimum wage would be needed but the right has said no to that too as is known, but I’m talking about the great majority of Italians who see their wages stagnating and the cost of living going very fast. Maybe they would understand one thing: how do you make a living in these conditions?”.

Bonelli: “No assets? Meloni defends the super-rich”

«Meloni writes that ‘he never made a fortune with the right in government. The reality is that the Meloni government has increased the tax burden to 42.8%. Who pays? Always the same: workers and pensioners. The right defends the rich and has abandoned the poor, who are getting poorer year after year. Absolute poverty in Italy has reached the scandalous figure of 5.7 million people. And with the Meloni government, the number of people who have given up on treatment has reached 1.3 million, going from 4.5 million to 5.8 million. In Italy there are 62 super-rich with a total wealth of 200 billion euros. Why shouldn’t those who are super-rich make a contribution to support public healthcare and increase salaries and pensions which are among the lowest in Europe? We are on the side of the poor and the middle class. Meloni is on the side of the super-rich and defends a system that is increasingly unjust from a social point of view. After all, you have already said no – together with Trump – to the global minimum tax on large multinationals.” This was stated in a note by Angelo Bonelli of Avs, co-spokesperson for Green Europe.
