A rich program, composed of 28 titles, including the unmissable New Year’s Concert, with events of great importance. A wide variety of proposals, between classic and contemporary authors. A program that will welcome the public from October 8th to May 31st 2025 and that, in addition to prose and symphonic musicwill feature musicals, ballet and opera, with productions by the Institution, in a journey that promises to fascinate and excite the audience of the “Vittorio Emanuele”.
After the sold-out performance of the operatic musical “DiNcAnTo”, and after last Saturday’s concert with the “Massimo Youth Orchestra” of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, conducted by Michele De Luca from Messina (scheduled for the 2024 Belliniana International Festival, promoted by the Presidency of the Sicilian Region in synergy with the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment), the 2024-2025 season of the Ente Teatro kicks off in Messina.
The program, in detail, will be presented on Wednesday 25th, at 9.45, in the “Sinopoli” roomby the extraordinary commissioner Orazio Miloro, by the superintendent Gianfranco Scoglio and by the artistic directors of the prose, music and dance sections, Giovanni Anfuso and Matteo Pappalardo. The regional councilor for Tourism, Sport and Entertainment, Elvira Amata from Messina and the mayor Federico Basile will speak.
The Ente Teatro, as announced in recent days by Miloro and Scoglio, will be present at the G7 of Agriculture on climate change, which will be held in Syracuse from 27 to 29 September. As part of the important international event, at 8:30 pm on 25 September, at the Teatro Comunale, the Ente Peloritano Symphony Orchestra will represent “Note di celluloid”, a concert in which some of the most beautiful creations of film music will be performed.
The press conference to present the new season will also be an opportunity for a meeting between Commissioner Miloro, Regional Councillor Amata and the Mayor of Messina after the controversial statements released by Federico Basile. “I learn not only with regret, but also with amazement – these are the statements of the mayor – that there is a decree that extends perhaps for the third or even fourth time the role of the extraordinary commissioner of the Vittorio Emanuele Theater Authority of Messina in place of a Board of Directors regularly identified 11 months ago. Given that I can only applaud the great work that Commissioner Miloro is doing, I wonder whether this excessive delay in ratifying an appointment provided for by a legislative regulation may depend either on the inability to manage the administrative act of ratification or on the political will not to do so. I really do not understand how a regional government that takes on the task and responsibility of administering the entire Region can take 11 months to ratify appointments that are the responsibility of the Municipality and Metropolitan City”.
