He fought for a long time against the evil that this morning has struck him, without ever losing strength and trust in the future. He passed away at 65 Enrico Vitaarchitect from Messina, regional board official, first employed by the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage, then of “Maria Accascina” Museum.
Man with a thousand interests but with an infinite passion for music and above all for jazz of which he was one of the most esteemed connoisseurs. For years he taught jazz history at the Corelli Conservatory. It was highly appreciated musical critic on the pages of the South Gazzettawith its unique style, the result of a rigorous study and a competence that had few equal in the panorama of Sicilian music criticism.
In 2022, together with his daughter Federica, aka Bluemarina, he created a fascinating multimedia show on one of the great names of jazz, Julio Cortázar at the Vittorio Emanuele Theater. It has formed entire generations of students united by its own love for that musical genre born in the USA in the early twentieth century.
The funeral will be held on Monday morning, at 11, in the church of Sant ‘Elena. To his wife Santina, to his sons Federica and Paolo, to all relatives, the most sincere condolences of the South and RTP Gazzetta.
