The APS “Torità Kum”, a non-profit organization already active in the creation of social and cultural projects, in collaboration with the “Maria Regina” Association, has made available the spaces of the Urban Park for the Arts, a former redeveloped railway station and made usable to citizenship, for the realization of the project “Old to whom?”, Which was financed with funds of the European Union.
The project has placed itself as the main objectives the demolition of prejudices related to the phenomenon of eryism and has opposed the isolation through socialization. Recipients of the project were therefore the elderly and those who find themselves in condition of isolation. The project also promoted the voluntary activity, entrusting the organization and management of activities to young people, who, through multiple playful, cultural and re -appropriation activities of our territory, have supported the maintenance of the cognitive skills and physical health of the participants and strengthened in them the sense of utility and belonging to the community.
Many cultural activities, exits and information and literacy initiatives that took place. Today, the final conference to present the activities carried out was held at the Urban Park for the Arts. We thank the commissioner Calafiore, the honorable Antonio De Luca regional deputy, the president of the Cacciotto municipality, the president of the tablet association Kum Carmelo Schepisi, Father Francesco and the president of the Acisjf Association Messina Annamaria Tarantino for their interventions. Special thanks go to Cristina Cannistrà, to Giuseppe Cambria and the five volunteers: Andaloro Silvia, Calafiore Marialia, Spampinato Alberto, Votelli Federica and Votelli Giuliana.
In this circumstance, the representatives of the Talita Kum Association have announced the continuation of the activities also thanks to the continuous support and support of some volunteers who will continue to carry on the activity by doubling the weekly appointments.
