A big party between music, smiles and good practices to learn. At PalaCultura the protagonists were the children of the last three classes of primary school, involved in a special, fun, musical and educational lesson. After embracing the high and childhood schools, the “Icaro project” – promoted by the Ministry of Education and merit and the State Police – now in its 25th edition, made a stop in the heart of the little ones, with the theatrical show “Icaro Junior”, written by Matteo near, directed by Paolo Sipala, staged by the company “Il Sipario”.

An interactive representation, which mixes fantasy, music and dance to accompany children along a symbolic house-school journey. An animated, colorful journey, but at the same time capable of transmitting fundamental messages on road safety. To guide them two special policemen, Osvaldo and Marta, who lead them to the “jungle” of city traffic, between dangers to be recognized and rules to be respected, always with a smile and with a language within their reach.

«It is beautiful to bring this message of closeness – says the Quaestor of Messina Annino Gargano -, our “being there”, always alongside the needs of the citizen and the little ones, is an enrichment. Being with them and having fun too is a reason for pride. It is nice to see how they respond to the solicitations of the presenters and those who made this beautiful show. Children are aware that you have to cross on the pedestrian crossings, that you do not drive by looking at your cell phone or that you do not exceed the speed limits: this is the great message that we must all share together ».

For institutional greetings, the Vice -prefect Vicaria was present Cettina Pennisithe manager of the provincial school office Leon Zingalesthe councilor for youth policies Liana Cannata and the deputy chief of the South Gazzetta Natalia La RosaHead of the GDS Academy of South Publishing Company – Gazzetta del Sud Giornale di Sicilia (Media Partner of the project), who brought the greeting of the president and editorial director Lino Morgante. Also present were the leaders of the university Hospital and Unipol, which supported the initiative. The event, promoted locally by the traffic police under the patronage of the Municipality of Messina and the provincial school office, was presented by the journalist Rachele Gerace; To take care of the reception, the “Antonello” higher education institute directed by Laura Tringali.

“The” Icaro project ” – explains the commander of the Messina traffic police, Antonio Capodicasa – It affects all age groups, from kindergarten to university. He is 25 years old, solid bases and deep roots and sees the world of school involved on the one hand and on the other of the state police: we cannot think of making safety and improving the conditions of our streets if we do not involve children. They are the first bearers of an important message of security, life and legality ».
