The workshop “Aosta”, the workshop on the leadership organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Messina and the University of the City of the Strait, was held at Palazzo Sant’Elia, headquarters of the Command of the Meccanized Brigade, as part of the training and cultural activities aimed at raising the technical-professional knowledge of staff in command. The purpose of the seminar was to provide food for thought, especially to the youngest commanders, on the qualities that you have to have to be considered leaders.

To open the works and do the honors of the house was the Brigadier General Pasquale Spanòcommander of the Eosta, who introduced the theme of the workshop, in which the professor participated as speakers Alessandro De Carlo of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the local Peloritana University, the engineer Salvatore Mondellodeputy mayor of Messina, and the psychologist captain Deborah Basile.

Spanò has dialogue with the young commanders of minor units, arguing on the complexity of the command and on the responsibilities it requires to those who are invested at all levels, according to a vision that requires not only communion of intent, but also clarity and sharing of objectives.

Professor De Carlo gave an academic cut to the notion of leadership, providing some historical examples that have left memory in both positive and negative terms. In this area, Captain Basile described the training paths to be motivated and psychologically ready for command.
Finally, the deputy mayor of Messina Mondello spoke of his experience in the Public Administration, highlighting the difficulties of counting both public interests and private.
