Still unrivaled. Max Verstappen closes another dominant Saturday with his Red Bull, winning the sprint race and taking his sixth pole position in as many rounds of the 2024 F1 World Championship which is stopping in Miami this weekend. In Florida the Dutch world champion will start from first position on the grid alongside Charles Leclerc with a Ferrari that proves to be competitive. This is also confirmed by the third position of Carlos Sainz, who will start in front of the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez. “We have improved the car a bit, even if here I can't find consistency in the feeling with the flying lap. Even today it was a question of finding the right balance. It wasn't the best lap of my career, but we are on pole and this it's the most important aspect”, declared the leader of the drivers' standings at the end of qualifying. But the Monegasque from Ferrari is confident and replies that the car has “showed good pace and the objective is to try to put pressure” on Verstappen.
Only a fifth place for the other Red car of Carlos Sainz, who was unable to overcome the defense of an amazing Daniel Ricciardo (Racing Bulls), fourth at the finish line but who will start from last position in Sunday's race after being eliminated in Q1 and with a three-place penalty to serve. Closing out the points in the sprint were Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) and Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls)
