Monday’s ceremony for the signing of the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi and American President Donald Trump. This was written by the Cairo media, according to which the leaders of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Indonesia were officially invited. Italy will be represented by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The summit, scheduled for Sharm el Sheikh, was yesterday at the center of a preparatory telephone conversation between Cairo’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, and his US counterpart Marco Rubio.

The transfer of Palestinian life prisoners has begun

The IDF has begun transferring Palestinian security prisoners who will be released under Trump’s peace deal, Israeli public TV Kan said. The detainees will be released from different prisons: those released in Gaza or deported through the Rafah crossing have been transferred to Ketziot prison, while those who will be released in the West Bank, an estimated 100, will be transferred to Ofer prison.

The media: “200 US soldiers in Israel to monitor truce”

Overnight, “US troops began arriving in Israel as part of a force that will help oversee the ceasefire in Gaza”: ABC News writes, quoting two officials. The 200-strong team will arrive over the weekend from the United States and other bases in the Middle East. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the US military’s Central Command, arrived in Israel yesterday.

According to sources, the US army will establish a multinational task force, called the ‘Joint Control Center’, which will probably also include soldiers from Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the Emirates. A senior official said “no US forces will enter Gaza.” The task force will be led by the US Central Command (Centcom) based in the region and will aim to oversee the progress of the ceasefire agreement and contribute to the coordination of humanitarian aid.
