A wave of Israeli attacks in Eastern and southern Lebanon ha killed at least 31 people todaythe Lebanese Ministry of Health said, as Israel intensifies its air campaign against Iran-backed Hezbollah.

“Israeli enemy raids targeting the Baalbek-Hermel region killed 20 people, including 11 in the locality of Knaisseh,” a ministry statement said regarding the attacks in the east of the country under Hezbollah control . Another 14 people were injured, he said. In the south, where Hezbollah has a strong presence, Israeli attacks have killed at least 11 people, including six first responders linked to the group and its Shiite ally Amal. The ministry said five people were killed in the southern village of Hanouiyeh.
