There is no sign of decreasing the landings of migrants in the port of Roccella Jonica, in Locride. In the last 18 hours, in the Reggio maritime port, there have been two other arrivals, within a few hours of each other, involving a total of 137 people, including ten unaccompanied minors. The migrants, of Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian and Afghan nationality, were traveling on board two boats, with damaged engines, which left Turkey in recent days, which were located and rescued by the Coast Guard. The migrants, after an initial check by the police and medical personnel, they were temporarily hosted, at the disposal of the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria, in the first reception structure built in the port area and managed by the Red Cross and a team of Doctors Without Borders. This brings the total number of migrant landings to 26, for a total of over 1,500 people, recorded in Roccella during this year.
