The municipal council of Corigliano-Rossano takes a stand after the precautionary measure against the mayor Flavio Stasi, expressing support for him and announcing that the administrative activity will continue to carry forward the city’s projects. In a note, the executive distinguishes the judgment on the operation against organized crime from the position of the mayor. The investigations targeting the clans, say the councillors, “represent an extremely positive fact, necessary to free our territory from the economic and social ballast represented by the ‘Ndrangheta”.
«Trust in the bodies of justice»
As for Stasi, the junta recalls his behavior and actions carried out over the years, in his personal life and in the administration, which it defines as “objective, tangible and constant”. «Despite not knowing the disputed facts, we have no doubt not only about his total extraneousness, but above all about his political and cultural hostility to any criminal environment and even more viscerally to organized crime», we read in the document. The councilors therefore express confidence in the justice bodies, hoping that this belief can be confirmed as soon as possible in the competent bodies.
The activity of the Municipality continues
The council announces that it will continue to carry out the administrative activity necessary to advance the paths already started, some of which are considered crucial for the growth of Corigliano-Rossano. The executive states that it is acting in the belief that it is interpreting the will of the mayor and hopes that the matter will be clarified as quickly as possible, allowing the administration to regain the reference represented by Stasi in the last seven years.
