Lisa Vittozzi wins gold in the biathlon pursuit race in Anterselva. The silver goes to the Finnish Suvi Minkkinen and the Norwegian Marem Kirkeeide, bronze. The Italian remained error-free on the range, thus recovering four positions compared to yesterday’s individual performance.
“I got chills on the last kilometres”
«I can’t believe it, I’m too happy. I’m very proud of myself, I got shivers on the last kilometres. It’s a dream come true. I missed this medal and I managed to bring it home. My heart is bursting.” The Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi said this after winning gold in the pursuit race in Milan Cortina, in Anterselva.
“I’ve been looking for this medal for a long time,” confessed the new Olympic champion. «I didn’t think I would reach gold because the level of the competitors was really high. I did a performance at the range. I was very calm at the range”, said Vittozzi. «After yesterday’s race – she added – I wasn’t very satisfied, in the sense that 40 seconds is a lot to recover, but I tried to do my race. I knew that the others were fast on skis, but I still tried to compete with my head. Experience played its part today,” he concluded
