Once again, it is a paradox that gives the idea: to return to Calabria at Christmas by plane it is better to make one or two stopovers, and not in Italy. And if a flight not booked in time risks becoming a drain, it is perhaps worse if you choose train or bus. Associations and committees have calculated staggering figures for the return to the holidays, asking for immediate countermeasures. There are currently no solutions: all that remains is to make sacrifices, cutting back on something else, or giving up.
The latest report on high prices is signed by the national observatory of Federconsumatori which found, on the routes examined, average increases of 48% on railway fares, 9% on air fares and 56% on buses. More in detail, a bus from Milan to Reggio, during the holidays, costs +285% compared to the price normally applied; by train, the Turin-Reggio route records greater increases with +195% for the outward journey and +81% for the return journey; by plane, on a Rome-Reggio flight, average increases of 8% on the outward journey and 25% on the return journey.
